MMed (Med Forens); MBChB; BhSc (Genetics)
I am a qualified medical practitioner and obtained my MBChB degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pretoria in 2003. I subsequently specialized in Forensic Pathology and was awarded an MMed degree in Forensic Medicine from the University of the Free State in 2013.
Since 2008, I have been actively engaged in the field of medico-legal death investigation. As part of a dedicated team, I investigate unnatural and suspicious deaths, primarily conducting medico-legal post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death and other pertinent forensic findings.
In addition to my forensic practice, I serve as an expert witness in both criminal and civil litigation related to Forensic Pathology. I have a strong professional interest in the medico-legal aspects of medical practice, including procedure-related deaths and medical negligence.
Furthermore, I am involved in medical education as a senior lecturer in Forensic Medicine and Pathology, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. I also deliver presentations on various topics in Forensic Medicine and Pathology to audiences in the public and private health sectors, as well as within the legal profession.
